It feels like forever since I last did a tag post, so when the lovely Lyd told me she had put her own together I jumped at the chance to answer a few quizzical questions and feed the nosiest readers amongst you. So here we go, the tell me more tag!
What's the story behind your blog name? For the newest readers out there, you may not know this but my foray into the blogging world started out as Walt Disney World travel blog. So that explains Wonderland. But Saloca? Sarah Louise Campbell. Saloca!
What's your real reason for blogging? I love sharing my thoughts and feelings for everything I'm passionate about. I love being able to share my trips and days out. I'd like to think that I might even inspire someone out there to go out and do something new or give something different a try.
Best thing about blogging? The community. So much shade has been thrown around the blogging community over the last year but honestly? I don't see any of that coming my way. I have met some of the most amazing people through blogging who I am lucky enough to speak to everyday, we make plans, we go out, we see each other in real life. Honestly, I fear that if I stopped blogging, I'd lose that and I never want to!
Worst thing about blogging? The numbers. No matter how hard you try, as a blogger you can never escape page views, DA, retweets or followers. All those numbers going up and down, it's a never ending, nervewracking, rollercoaster ride.
Proudest moment so far? I can't pick just one! I've been so lucky to work with some amazing people and brands!
What are your ultimate blogging goals? Don't be shy! I would love to be able to earn some real money through blogging. I've done the sums and if I just had a couple of hundred coming in regulary every month, it would make so many more things possible in my life. There is nothing wrong with wanting to earn money through your blog, it's not the be all and end all for me, but it would be nice. Well, that, and if Disney came knocking on my door with an opportunity!
If you released a book, what genre would it be? I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I would love to write a social media/blogging theory book. I love academic works on social media, online communities and fan theory, it's fascinated me since university and I would love to put one together one day. Look up Henry Jenkins and you'll know what I'm aiming for!
If you released products, what would they be? Homeware, beauty, or something unexpected? Tea. I would love love LOVE to release my own tea blends, with tea pots, mugs and strainers! A whole line of tea things! I would also love to pair the drinkable teas with bathable teas too. Pure tea luxury inside and out!
What would you name the products and why? Answers on a postcard please - I have no idea!
What has blogging taught you? Don't be so hard on yourself, do what makes you happy and whatever you do, do it for you.
Sum up your blog in three words! Argh, this is so difficult! Ermm, I'd like to think it's encouraging, insightful and hopefully, a little bit fun! Go on, take the tag and tell me more!
Until next time,
