It’s not every day (contrary to popular belief!) that you’re asked if you fancy being locked in a salon. The only lock-ins I’ve ever heard of usually involve pubs and serving yourself behind the bar - and I was pretty sure my local Supercuts hadn’t rebranded overnight. But a lock in it was, an after hours pampering experience with a small group of local bloggers, bottomless prosecco, curling wands and brow threading. Well, I didn’t have to be asked twice!
I grabbed my squad and we headed down St Johns shopping centre as everyone else was leaving, limboing under the shutters and into the pamper palace that was Supercuts. Considering the salon is so close to home, I can’t believe I’ve never been in before. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to lobbing off my locks, I’m a creature of habit and don’t often give new salons a try, I mean who knows what they might do to my hair? But the Supercuts girls set out to change that, and it wasn’t just about winning me over with Prosecco and sausage rolls!
After a quick hello and a glass of bubbly (isn’t this how most of these blogger events go?) we spread out for hair, nails, and beauty. I opted to hang back and take pictures of what was going on, as much as I love a good pamper, I love seeing what everyone else is having done first, just to make my mind up about what I fancy having done!
Tonight, it was all about the curls, from big voluminous bouncers to tight princess ringlets, everyone had something different going on. I never knew curls could be so versatile, I can just about get a generic curl going on so to see so many variations was pretty inspiring. I mean just look at these beauties and their curls;
Next up; nails. OPI shellac manicures to be exact! My nails have finally been growing back long and strong of late (yay vitamin D!) so it was nice to have them shaped and polished all pretty. I opted for this really pretty pastel blue colour with an aquamarine glitter top coat! Could my nails be anymore Disney? I’m torn between calling them Elsa nails or Cinderella nails - what do you think?
Sam, the beautiful brave lady that she is, volunteered to have her eyebrows threaded before the night was over and damn, was it fast! I’m not a huge fan of my brows and I wish I had felt a little braver and jumped in the hot seat to have mine done! Maybe next time!
I've got to give a huge shoutout to the ladies at Supercuts, St Johns, they took care of us from start to finish, I never saw an empty glass, their hair and beauty tips were music to my ears and they had us laughing none stop! It was such an intimate event so I really got a chance to chat with the ladies who work there day in, day out, and you could tell then genuinely loved what they do!
The night was all about #Squadgoals and I’ve got to say, my local blogging squad are a friggin awesome, top banana bunch of ladies! One of the best things about blogging really is the people you end up meeting through it, and the more events I head to, the more familiar faces pop up and it’s almost impossible not to connect and get to know each other! So, Sam, Sammy, Olivia, Kayleigh, Tasmin and Hannah - girls you are goals!
The night ended up feeling like a giant girlie sleepover, and take it from me, no matter how old you get, no matter how serious left gets, a night with the girls can make everything seem a million times better!
