Happy New Year everyone! How are those heads this morning? Did you have a wild one or a quiet night in with loved ones and a good box set? However you brought in the new year, I hope you had fun, stayed safe and are ready for the adventure that is 2016!
2015 was pretty amazing wasn’t it? I had a fantastic year and I just wanted to sit down and have a little recap with you all, give 2015 the proper, final, good-bye it deserves before we get cracking with 2016! So grab a blanket or a pet, pop the kettle on and get comfortable, we’ve been on a ride all year and it’s about time we took our foot off the gas for a minute or two!
January saw me attempt my first no-buy challenge ever and it was a roaring success, so much so it carried on for several months afterwards. Keep your eyes peeled as version 2.0 will be popping up on the blog shortly! February was all about fitness. I took on a 40 day fitness challenge with DW Fitness and it was then that I really started getting into this exercise malarkly. After almost 6 months of living away from home, I finally talked about the reality of flying the nest and how much I value spending time with my family. March doesn’t stand out, I guess we all have those quieter months but April was a none stop month! From my Skincare A- Z challenge to celebrating 2 wonderful years with my Mr. I spent a lot of time out and about with friends and ate my way though Liverpool’s Spring Food and Drink Festival with the bro! May brought me food, fun, frolics, three Queens and my Dad on crutches - talk about drama! June brought with it sunshine, long hours, friends from across the pond and a pretty quiet month here on the blog. I talked about money saving for summer, my no-buy was clearly on it’s way out of the window and my savings needed a boost! July I found myself in the heart of Sherwood Forest, attempting archery and spending an entire weekend kicking ass at Articulate! If you’ve never played this game - do it, do it now! I had my first every experience of a stripper at a friends hen party and I think it scarred me for life! I talked summer essentials with ESPA, attended my first Liverpool Bloggers event, and finally got my hands on my very own business cards! The Mr turned 29 and we celebrated with a candle in a creme brûlée! Then I went up above the rooftops of Liverpool to sit in a hammock, sipping red wine and watched a prostitute become the Princess. August I let the inner diva out, danced the night away in Liverpool’s Green Room and watched one of my best friends walk down the aisle to her Prince Charming. I shed a tear or two and rocked a pretty awesome up-do! September rolled around and I was off on my jollies to Fuertaventura for a long week of relaxing, eating, drinking, swimming - repeat! It was seriously an amazing holiday and just thinking about it put’s a smile on my face. October was quite possibly one of the greatest months of the year - I was lucky enough to attend the Bloggers Blog Awards and met some of my all time favourite bloggers - a certain group of ladies came into my life that day and they refuse to leave, not that I’d let them go anyway! I turned a whopping 28 years old and waved a good friend off to Canada. November, another month, another amazing Liverpool Bloggers event, a series of food fests with the baby bro and a hen party to remember with some of my favourite bloggers. A Christmas show in Liverpool and a mega Christmas meet up with the ladies I met back in October - cheeky gin, a failed attempt at the Christmas markets, a squeal through an ice maze and a swatch fest in Space NK. And finally, last but not least, December. Tree decorating, present wrapping, celebrating, catching up, more present buying, spilling blogger secrets and running 5k through the streets of Liverpool dressed as Santa. Throw in a Christmas party or two, some family festivities and all the reasons why my blog is not a secret!
There you have it. That was 2015.
If you’ve stuck with the post this long, heck if you’ve stuck with the blog this long, I just want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you! Let’s be honest, most of us who set out on this blogging journey never expect anyone other than our mums (and even then, maybe not!) to read our little blogs. Wonderland has grown so much in the last 12 months, opened so many new doors, brought me exciting opportunities and most importantly, brought amazing people into my life and for all of that I am forever grateful.
So let’s start 2016 as we mean to go on, with a smile on our face and a brew in hand! I hope this year brings you fun, laughter and love. I hope you start out on an amazing journey, question everything, follow your heart and be creative at every given moment.
Until next time,
