Fitness Update #2

Just to be the girl who walked a thousand miles
To win the work week hustle…

This week has been all about the FitBit. I’ve had one for nearly a month now and this week has been about nothing but putting one foot in front of the other, in the name of glory and winning my third consecutive challenge.

Up until Thursday, I was lagging behind and first place was easily 20k+ steps ahead of me. I didn’t think there was any way I could catch up, let alone overtake for first place. But then, you suddenly find yourself at 11.30pm on a Friday night, marching on the spot with a glass of wine in one hand, your phone in the other, constantly refreshing your step count.

I’ve never thought of myself as a competitive person, but damn, I wasn’t going to lose! I went to bed a winner, with a really really sore ass. 

Workout wise, I only made it to the gym once again this week. I’m not going to beat myself up about it, I went on enough lunch time walks to make up for it. I did a full hour of cardio; cross trainer, bike and rowing machine. 

Gymming of an evening has been really hard lately. I feel like I’m literally running against a wall and the weights feel twice as heavy. Working against having already been up 14+ hour and a full day on my feet in work, I just can’t seem to get my energy back to what it was last summer! 

Can’t I just blame the dark, miserable weather?
