Current Skincare Routine

oily skin care routine

Looking back through the blog I can’t remember the last time I did an updated skin care routine *bad blogger*. Thing is, I’m a creature of habit and when I find something that works I get right into my comfort zone with it and use it to death. Over the last couple of months I’ve changed this and that around in my skin care routine so I thought it was about time I wrote an update! I love having a nose around other people's skin care routines, don’t you? You can guarantee everyone does something a little different!

AM

Rise and shine, I might not be bouncing out of bed or singing in the shower before my second cup of tea but I can just about manage an early morning cleanse with Lush’s 9 - 5 cleanser, followed by my tried, tested and true Olay Beauty Fluid moisturiser and No 7 Protect and Perfect Eye Cream (which actually ran out today *cries*).

PM

The PJs are back on, the hair is piled on top of the head and it all starts with a thorough cleanse with Lush’s Ultrabland, followed by MooGoo Soothing MSM Cream

Twice a week

I’m all for a pamper session and no pamper session is complete without a face mask. I’ve been flitting between Balance Me Radiance Face Mask, Liz Earle Intensive Moisturising Mask and, the newest addition which I use about once a fortnight, Origins Drink Up Intensive Over Night mask

I exfoliate twice a week with Murad's AHA/BHA Age Reform exfoliator and haven’t actually been using my Clarisonic of late either. I can’t seem to find a nice new foamy cleanser that works well enough with it. Shout out some recommendations!

And that's it. Job done. I’ve been trying to use fewer products on my face and I’ve been seeing some really great results from using less. I still dabble in serums and have been gifted so many new things to try that I’m half excited for things to run out to try new ones, but scared they will upset the good thang I’ve got going on right now!

How often do you change up the products you use?

Until next time

  1. I'm not a fan of the balance me range. I tried it once and it felt so weird on my skin. I'm interested to try the Lush skincare range though. I hope it's better than their hair care!

    1. I would defiantly recommend you try Ultrabland and 9 to 5, though Ultrabland feels really thick and greasy on the face, once it's been removed your skin feels like a drain that's just been unclogged! Amazing, every time!

    1. If you have an Origins counter nearby pop in and ask for a sample, they're usually so generous and have samples of everything! They're one of my favourites for that reason, I hate having to commit to a full sized product when I'm not 100% sure about it!
