#AtoZChallenge: Daily Skincare Routine

a to z challenge banner

My last oily skin care routine went up in June 2014. Yup, it’s been a while then. I recently re-read that post and was surprised by how much my routine has changed, and how much, including a couple of products have stayed the same.

Somebody asked me a while back how I put together a skincare routine and how I managed to stick to it every day, twice a day. How I put the routine together was simple, I read lots of other peoples skincare routine posts, especially those with a similar skin type to mine. I then stated to play around with products; going off recommendations, word of mouth and samples. Your skincare routine doesn't have to be complicated, mine might look like it is, but the difference between words and reality is a big one!

I enjoy looking after my skin. Those times in the morning and evening when I'm cleansing and applying products are like little bubbles of me time. It helps me start my day feeling confident and end it relaxed and ready for bed.

It doesn't matter how many products you use, as long as you're using the right products for your skin and you enjoy the process. Here's my usual daily routine, pre-make up.

AM

I cleanse with Simple Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel, pat dry and apply The Body Shops Nurtiganics Concentrated Serum. After 60 seconds, I moisturise using Olay SPF 15 Beauty Fluid for Oily/Normal skin. I finish with Origins No Puffery Cooling Eye Gel. Once everything is dried and set my skin looks supple, soft, even and matte.

I cleanse with Lush Ultrabland and a Washi hot cloth. Once dry, I apply The Body Shops Nutriganics Concentrated Serum. After 60 seconds I moisturise with Origins GinZing moisturiser and use Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

Twice a week

Twice a week I have myself a little at-home Spa session where I pamper myself from top to toe. When it comes to pampering my face, I start with Origins Modern Friction exfoliating scrub. I then use GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment or Origins Clear Improvement as my weekend face-mask, and Liz Earle Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask for my mid-week mask.

Once a month

Usually around the 1st of the month I will pull out my Clarisonic Mia 2 and give my skin an in-depth cleanse. it really is like going the Spa for a facial!

What does your current daily skincare regime look like?

Until next time,
