#AtoZChallenge: Brand Spotlight; The Body Shop

april #atozchallenge

The Body Shop has always had a special place in my heart when it comes to skincare. They where the first non-drugstore brand that I used when I was a teen, trying to understand what cream went where, how a face mask worked and the difference between a cleanser and an exfoliator.

Their iconic seaweed range was the first complete care system I ever used for my overly oily teenage skin, and when I was feeling adventurous, their tea tree range really helped to teach me a thing or two about the right and wrong products for our skin.

The Body Shop are constantly launching new product which I'm always eager to try out, but there are certainly some golden oldie products that I keep coming back to time and time again.

Their Ionic Seaweed Clay Mask (£13) was the first every face mask I used when I was about 16 and I still use it today! Ideal for oily skin, it draws grease, dirt and impurities out of the skin without drying it out too much. When my skin was at it's most acne-prone, their Tea Tree Mask (£10) was ideal for soothing redness and fighting off extreme breakouts.

Their Camomile Waterproof Eye-Make Up remover (£8) has been repurchased several times since it was launched and I'm yet to actually find anything as kind to my skin with the ultimate in make-up removing power. Seriously. I've gone from budget to high end and nothing works as well as this little wonder!

The Body Shop are infamous for their hand creams and body lotions, but their skin care is well worth checking out, whatever your age. Their Pomegranate line has had lots of great mentions when it comes to caring for older skin, as well as their Nutriganics line(which I'm currently trailing now!). Their Vitamin C line will brighten the dullest of skin and if you need 8 hours sleep in a jar? They've got a Vitamin E boosting serum that will do just that.

Made with organic, natural, fair trade ingredients, it's a great place to start when looking to care for younger, teenage skin, after all, that's when I started shopping their and I haven't looked back! Their Aloe range is great when you're skins as dry as the desert, and if it's too oily and moist, their seaweed range has always been my favourite.

What's your desert island skincare product exclusively from The Body Shop?

Until next time,

    1. Ooo you really should give it a go! They have some real skin care gems, and I can't praise the chamomile make up remover enough, I went back and bought ANOTHER bottle of it today!
