Birchbox UK June 2014

birchbox uk june

Let me start this post by saying - don't read subscription box spoilers!

Seriously.

The May Bircbox UK was the first time in the history of my subscription box subscribing that I have ever knowingly gone looking at spoiler posts and videos. Seen as though all my boxes so far have been amazing, I didn’t think there was any harm in knowing what was coming in the June box, because, it was going to be equally amazing…right?

I see people un-boxing beauty blenders and Caudalie and I get so epically excited it’s ridiculous. That’s just what we do when we see great products in these kinds of boxes. I’d even received emails from Birchbox with spoiler alerts in the title for the beauty blenders so I was convinced I’d get one.

So, we all know what happened don’t we? Let’s take a look inside my box…

Embroyliss Lait Crème Concentrate
I’m loving my French beauty products right now but this is not a brand I’ve ever heard of. It’s the tiniest 5ml sample too so I doubt I’ll get much use out of it. It’s a moistruiser that when layered up, doubles up as a face mask. RRP £12.99

Silk & Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask
I’ve found myself with a few hair masks recently but I’ve yet to give them a try. This is a deeply nourishing mask to soften hair and fortify elasticity. It’s got a really short expiration date on it too so I’m assuming it’s full of fresh ingredients. RRP £55 (for a full set)

OPI nail Varnish Mini – The Brazil Collection
I love OPI mini varnishes, they’re so darn cute! I received the shade A59 – Next Stop Bikini Zone, a really light purple colour with bronze undertones and lots of mini glitter specks.  Not exactly a colour I’d pick when thinking of Brazil but it’s cute none the less. RRP £11.95

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick in Marron Glace
I’m not a big lipstick lover but this feels more like a balm when applied. It’s super moisturizing but smells really waxy which puts me off. There’s some shine to it, but for me, it’s definatly a ‘your lips but better’ kind of shade, very sheer indeed! RRP £9.90

Naobay Body Radiance lotion
A lemony fresh organic body lotion, I started using this right away as my E45 had just run out! It’s made with lots of skin loving ingredients, such as; shea butter, olive oil and avocado. It’s a decent 30ml sample that I got 3 full body applications out of but it wasn’t anything special. RRP £14

Brazil Inspired Keyring
I love a good lifestyle extra, but I kind of wish they’d put in some chocolate or Propercorn or, I don’t know, a beauty tool of some kind? The key ring isn’t something I’ll be using, World Cup or not!

I’ve got to say, even if I hadn’t read the spoilers for this months Birchbox I’d have still, for the first time, been pretty disappointed in this months offerings. I know, not every box can be perfect, but they’ve all been amazing so far for me, so this was a real let down! The OPI mini is probably the best thing in the box for me, the rest, not so much!

What did you get in this months box? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time,

  1. Boo. It's rubbish when a box is a disappointment!

Hopefully next month will be better.

  3. I thought this month's looked quite exciting! I would definitely use the lipstick and the hair mask. I'm not sure about the keyring though!

    1. The lipstick is very sheer so it's up my street, I'm just not a huge lipstick fan! Interesting to see the results of the mask!
