C
C is for...car!
What was your first car? Mine was a little red Fiesta, about 13
years old. I loved that car. it wasn't anything special, it had no fancy
buttons or swanky interior but it was my freedom. I could go anywhere,
whenever I wanted to. It made it much easier to visit friends, to head
to the pool, even just getting to and from my old work. I loved driving
along winding country roads at night on the way home from University,
pitch black roads with only the stars and other headlights for light.
This one time, a cow stuck it's head out of a
bush...I've never screamed so loud in my life. Another time, a baby
rabbit hopped out right in-front of the car - that scream was almost
just as loud!
I didn't like driving on motorways, and I never
reverse parked. In the winter it would be colder inside the car than it
was outside - I once had to scrape actual icicles off the inside of the
car. Yes, I had furry dice on my rear view mirror - instead of spots
they had little Mickey heads, and my favouirte album to drive along to
was The Ultimate Dirty Dancing soundtrack. I once left my lights on and
killed the battery - I had to stand in a foot of snow dressed as
Mrs.Clause whilst my dad came and jump started my car.
I sold the car over a year ago as it just wasn't getting used enough - I really regret that now. I miss that little motor! Right now, it's not really worth me buying a new car but watch this space, you never know!
Until next time,
Mine was an old man Rover. It was big and boxy and the only other people I saw driving similar cars were old men. But I didn't care. It was a car and it was mine. It died about 7 years ago and I had to get a newer, smaller car. I don't like it as much. It doesn't have the same character :(
ReplyDeleteI don't think any car can really compete with your first car, it will always hold a special place in your heart. No matter what others thought of it, it was yours and you loved it! I know the feeling well!

I never reverse park either, lol. The first car I bought myself was a Mazda 3. I still have her, even though the husband gets to drive more.
ReplyDeleteI just don't see the point in reverse parking! It takes me forever and I get all flustered, I'd rather just drive straight in and be done with it lol!
