Boots 3 for 2 skin care haul!

Whenever I see that 3 for 2 sign go up in the windows of my local Boots I get very excited. Just the other week they had their 3 for 2 event on make up and accessories - now that's come to an end they haven't left us hanging for long, they've instantly started up their 3 for 2 on skincare event. This is probably my favourite event as it gives me a great excuse to check out some products I've been eyeing up for a while.

I don't know if 3 items count as a haul but whenever I know I'm heading into an event I always check out my favourite blogs and see what others have picked up on offer and what they'd recommend. It not only inspires me, but it makes the whole 'aimlessly wandering the aisles picking up everything' an avoidable exercise. I'll have had a little read up, made a little list and know exactly what I'm heading in for - it also helps when I'm trying not to over spend too!

So, what did I pick up?

Olay Essentials Complete Care normal/oily Day Fluid £5.99

I really wanted to pick up a new moisturiser but nothing in reviews or on those shiny shelves quite took my fancy, I couldn't find anything that seemed to tick all the right boxes. I wanted an SPF moisturiser (this one is SPF15) that was ideal for oily/combination skin, not overly drying and easily absorbed. If you know something that sounds like this (that isn't Nivea!) then let me know! When all else fails, there's nothing wrong with sticking with what you've tried, tested and loved. I've been using this particular Olay moisturiser for almost 7 years now - that's dedication I tell you!. My skin loves it and it loves my skin, why fix something when it's not broken?

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ £15.50

It's about time I jumped on the band wagon and found out for myself what all the fuss is about. If you haven't heard of this product...where have you been? I don't think there's a single blog I follow that hasn't, at some point over the last 2 years, mentioned this wonder product. Designed to correct the appearance of imperfections, as well as unclogging blocked pores and fighting against the likes of acne scarring and brown spots - it sounds like a skin miracle! I'll be using this twice a day, morning and night, with a review coming in April!

No 7 Protect & Perfect eye cream £15

I've barely tried anything from the No 7 range, but I figured an eye cream was a good place to start. It's from their younger range targeted at 25-35 year olds, designed to protect young skin and delay the first signs of ageing, boost radiance and visibly improve fine lines. My 26, almost 27 year old eyes are still looking pretty young and line free but there's nothing wrong with a little extra TLC and some early stage protection. Again I'll be using it twice a day and have a review up in April!

Not a massive haul but it's filled with essentials and hopefully some wondrous new products!

Have you checked out the 3 for 2 skincare event yet? Go on, what did you buy? I'd love to hear!

Until next time,

  1. Eeeekkkk!
Is 3 for 2 still on? I can't believe I did not know this! I am soooo there!
I have wanted to try the No7 eye cream for so long! Can't wait to read your review on it!
    H x

  2. I'm pretty sure it's still on so get down there now hehe! Well worth checking out! I'd have loved to pick up more bu I'm going to have to put myself on a spending ban for a little while eek! Such a great way to try out new products though for less ££!

So far I'm liking the No7 eye cream but time will tell!

    Sarah :)
