Back again for day 2 of Blogtember! Be sure to check out my previous post here, and a big shout out goes to my personal Ginger over at
Just Add Ginger for taking up this challenge with me!
Day 2:
If you could take three months off from your current life
and do anything in the world, what would you do?
Is that 3 months off with full pay? Lets say
yes!
Believe it or not, I think I'd stay in the UK! There are so many places right here that I would love to visit, and it'd be a damn bit cheaper too! Lets say...anywhere ending in 'shire' would be a good start, with a weekend in Ireland and a trip up to Scotland too!
I'd spend a lot of time exploring my city too, Liverpool. There's always an event or two going on somewhere and there are still countless bars and restaurants I've yet to visit!
It's been a long while since I've had any solid continuous blocks of time to just write
- infact I'd want one of my free months to be
November just so that I can take part in
Nanowrimo and actually be in with a chance of completing it for once (I've only been trying since...2009...!) Novel madness aside, I would love the opportunity to really throw myself into blogging and go back to writing my
articles.
The list goes on, and on...and on and on! There are so many books I want to read, 3 months probably wouldn't be enough time to even make a dent in the list! It'd be nice to have more than a hour a day to read though!
Lets face it, we're a convenience society and if something takes more than an
hour half an hour to cook, it ain't happening on a week night! I would love to cook more - and I'm not just talking cakes here. But big, 3 course meals, fresh farmers market ingredients, the whole Delia-deal! I'd say with 3 months I could attempt a few fancy meals of my own making, and probably batch cook to boot!
Films, DVDs, boxsets, Netflix...my oh my...there are tons of shows I want to start, finish, catch up on, even re-watch, there are just not enough hours in the day! I think with a free 3 months I'd probably devote at least one day a week to doing just this! I'm talking a full on pj wearing, hair on top of my head, eating like you only do on Sundays day - but in the middle of the week just because I can!
Let's face it, I'm treating these 3 months like one long weeked and there's nothing wrong with that! Though if I was to win the lottery at any point I have a feeling a private jet, dollars and a set of mouse ears would be involved!
How would you spend 3 months away from the working world?
